Emily's Place — Plano, Texas

Transforming Lives. Building Communities. Restoring Hope.

Emily’s Place provides long-term transformational care that is critical for helping domestic violence survivors permanently escape abuse. It is the “bridge” from a shelter, which typically allows women a safe place for 30 to 90 days, to independent living, free of the barriers preventing them from achieving self-sufficiency away from their abusers.

As the bridge, Emily’s Place provides a structured environment with direct support from a staff of house managers, caseworkers and counselors, and access to programs available in the community. Emily’s Place relies on outside support and 97 cents of every dollar received goes directly back into the program.

Our KicKee Gives Back Coordinator, Alexis, had the fortunate opportunity to spend a day visiting Emily’s Place, meet the organization leaders and witness the great work they do there. On March 23, 2018, Emily’s Place held a gala and more than 500 people were in attendance! To help support abused women and raise money for their very important cause, KicKee donated one boy and one girl auction basket to their gala containing our comfy and cozy layette sets, onesies, coveralls, tops, bottoms and bibs. And we didn’t stop there. We also donated two boxes full of KicKee wear — all styles — for them to keep on hand in their closet for when new placements arrive with their little ones!
