INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center NICU

INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center NICU

Everything your baby needs.

Jack Griffin entered this world with a degenerative neurological disease, but despite his terminal condition, he faced each day and challenge with a will to live and fight that left his parents, family and caregivers in awe. In his 62 short days on this earth, he taught us to love unconditionally, be accepting of those with disabilities and special needs, and to embrace change with love and understanding. Jack was cared for by the INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (“NICU”), and the physicians and nurses who comprise this NICU truly loved and cared for Jack as if he was their own.  It is in Jack’s and their honor for which KicKee Pants offers its ever valuable support by donating 550 soft and snuggly swaddles!

INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center has a level III NICU, meaning it cares for critically ill babies born as early as 23 weeks, or babies who may weigh less than one pound. The unit cares for more than 600 infants each year and is comprised of physicians, nurses, therapists and staff who are nationally certified in their respective fields to provide Level III NICU care. The staff provides care to its patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week, making sure each infant is well cared for. Additionally, the NICU team is an active participant in medical research, clinical education, continuous quality improvement and safety programs that allow the team to improve patient outcomes and to provide the best quality of care for its high-risk newborns. This incredible team has the joy of watching the tiniest and toughest of babies show their distinctive ability to survive, grow and improve.

Jack’s parents set up the Jack Griffin fund through the INTEGRIS Foundation and have raised almost $15,000! Their goal is for every baby who comes through the NICU to receive an Angel Dear lovey and KicKee Pants swaddle, as Jack loved his lovies and his KicKees. Jack could neither hear nor see, but he could feel and always calmed when he had something soft against him. The fund will be used to ensure every baby receives something soft and cuddly to demonstrate how much he or she is loved. It is his parents’ way of honoring Jack and loving these tiny babies, some of whom would never receive anything but for the NICU gift.
