EB Promise

Promising softness for a hard condition.

Based in North Carolina, EB Promise is a non-profit organization that advocates for orphans suffering from a rare, incurable disease called Epidermolysis Bullosa, or EB, which causes the skin to blister or slough off at the slightest amount of friction. Children with EB are lacking or deficient in the protein that holds the layers of skin together, and therefore are susceptible to open wounds all over their body simply from wearing a shirt, rubbing an eye or being picked up incorrectly.

EB Promise advocates for orphans with EB domestically and globally by providing their caregivers with necessary supplies and education, finding them adoptive families, and supporting families through the adoption process of a child with EB.

It is difficult for children with EB to find clothing that does not irritate their highly sensitive skin. Pained by the idea of a child in pain, fortunately Kickee Pants was able to provide a little comfort to a severely uncomfortable condition by donating their extremely soft and gentle clothing.
