Wombats to the Rescue! KicKee Raises Funds for Australia's Wildfires.
Since late July 2019, Australia has been ravaged by the worst wildfires seen in decades, devastating large swaths of the country. Unfortunately, there’s no end in site as the gargantuan bushfires across Australia continue to rage. To date, they've burned at least 17.9 million acres, destroyed more than 3,000 homes, and killed at least 28 people since September. The choking smoke from these blazes is causing a global health crisis. Tragically, an estimated half a billion (480 million) animals have died as well as a result of the fatal wildfires.
Even with firefighting assistance from other countries, including the United States, state and federal authorities are struggling to contain the massive blazes. The loss of lives, land and animals has us all heartbroken at KicKee Pants. In order to help raise funds and support the Australian fire victims, we decided to do our part by holding a two-day fundraiser and donating the proceeds from all sales of our wildly adorable wombat items, including PJs, dresses, books and plush, directly to NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS): https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/volunteer/support-your-local-brigade. We were able to raise more than $1,000 to aide in the fight against the Australian wildfires!
